Final Instructions

28th Paddock Wood AC Half Marathon

Sunday 2nd April 2017, Start time 9.30 am

The Paddock Wood Half Marathon is fast approaching! I hope your final preparations are going well and you’re looking forward to Sunday’s race.

You should have received your race number, shoe chip, baggage label and final instructions- please read these as there is a lot of useful information. If you have not received this by race day please go to the information tent where they will assist you. We hope the following information will help you on race day-

Parking- the pre-race instructions provide details on parking but a useful place to park is Mascalls School; (Postcode-TN12 6LT) located South on the map below. It is about a 15 minute walk up the Maidstone Road to the start but will allow a quick getaway after the race. We also have some toilets here for your use. There is also parking at the station and town carparks. Also lots of street parking to the West of the B2160 (Maidstone Road) – exiting and turning right out of Ringden Avenue after the race. Please do not park on Maidstone Road or Warrington Road- this is the race route. Parking on the East Side of the B2160 will be more problematic leaving after the race as the roads won’t be fully open. See map below. There is NO parking in Eldon Way- race HQ

Baggage- the baggage area will be in a marquee on the right-hand side of the Eldon Way just after the start/finish line. This is the opposite side of the road to the toilets. Please ensure if you want to use this facility that your baggage label is tied to your bag before you join the queue to hand your bag over, this will speed the process up.

Toilets- we have hired more toilets and urinals for this year’s race to help with the queues before the race. Please do not leave it to the last minute to use these facilities.

Kent Championships- we are pleased to host the 2017 Kent Long Course Road Championships for open age Teams (18+); and Individual Veterans Categories.

We remind all Individual Veteran Kent Champs entrants that they must register on the day at the Kent Champs desk adjacent to the race information point at the start / finish line and wear the identifier provided on their backs. Conversely, all Kent affiliated club runners are automatically included in the team championships.

Due to 2750 expected race entrants in advance, and the demands of handling Kent Champs entries on the day, the Kent Champs organisers politely suggest individual entries should be from runners with the following performance potential:

MV40 – Sub 1.25                                 FV35 – Sub 1.45

MV50 – Sub 1.30                                 FV45 – Sub 1.45

MV60 – Sub 1.55                                 FV55 – Sub 2.05

MV70 – Any time                                 FV65 – Any time

All Kent Championship enquiries to roadrunning@kcaa.org.uk  please, not to the Paddock Wood Half Marathon

Enjoy the run and thanks for supporting our race,
